IBAN requests changed on 5 October 2026
Since 5 October 2026, registering or changing a bank account number (IBAN) requires access to Tax For All through CY Login. According to Global Law Experts, an adviser can submit using their own CY Login where authorised to act for that taxpayer. The account must be in the beneficiary’s name.
Submission requires electronically completed form Τ.Φ. 2008 and the IBAN certificate issued by the bank. Requests sent by email are rejected.
Cyprus Mail reported the forthcoming change on 23 September 2026, before the new submission requirement took effect.
Bank payments still need Tax For All payment details
For internet banking in 2026, the taxpayer copies the 13-digit payment reference displayed during Tax For All’s commercial-bank payment process. The code must be pasted into the corresponding field in the bank’s online portal.
For payment at a bank counter, the taxpayer must print the payment slip, available only through Tax For All, and present it there.
An accountant's registration must cover the individual taxpayer
Under the Global Law Experts route above, an individual's own CY Login may be needed if the adviser's registration does not cover that taxpayer.
The exception is for entities that cannot obtain CY Login because identification is objectively impossible. Requests go through TFA without CY Login, with duly completed, signed Form Τ.Φ. 2008-S and the bank's IBAN certificate.
Merely remaining unregistered does not qualify.
Access, IBAN and payment details must be in place first
Access comes first
An individual needs personal Tax For All access, or confirmation that the representative route above covers the intended action.
The IBAN request uses the 'Select reason' field
The IBAN certificate described above is the supporting bank document. In the Tax For All field 'Select reason', the applicant selects 'Bank Account - IBAN (T.F. 2008)'.
The payment needs the portal details for the liability
The portal payment details for the intended liability are required before payment. The internet-banking or counter route described above then applies.
Earlier temporary tax deadlines still matter
Any outstanding temporary tax needs review. KPMG in Cyprus states that the first 2026 instalment was due on 31 July 2026. Its penalty-free and interest-free payment window ended on 31 August 2026, also now past.
According to KPMG, revisions after 31 August and up to 31 December 2026 attract interest at 3.5% p.a..
A Cyprus-licensed tax adviser with access to the individual's Tax For All file can establish whether personal access or representative authorisation permits the intended action. The same adviser can check whether the file accepts foreign or joint accounts (including UK, Revolut or Wise), whether a pending refund can be redirected, and how a missed deadline is corrected.
